HACIENDA HATO VERDE
Located 55 km south of Quito in the Cotopaxi province.
A family-run working farm offering comfort and outdoor activities. Hacienda Hato Verde is part of a large antique dairy farm. Its 120 year old elegant farm house was reconstructed in 2004 preserving its rustic materials, decorations and style.
The country house serves as home of the owner and his family and also has nine thoughtfully decorated bedrooms, each with fireplace, bathroom, beds with white duck feather duvets and a beautiful view of the farm.
The Hacienda can accommodate up to 18 persons and is located in an Andean Valley an hour and 15 minutes traveling south from Quito through the "Avenue of the Volcanoes" to Cotopaxi, the highest active volcano in the world; it is 55 km south of Quito, 13 km north of Latacunga (Capital of the province of Cotopaxi) and 40 km north of Ambato (Capital of the Province of Tungurahua).

Sustainable Tourism
The Hacienda still works as a dairy ranch and uses Ecuadorian labor to keep its 86 acres of pastures well cared for and green.
Most of the dairy production is sold in the area for the artisanal fabrication of other dairy goods; in this way it contributes to the community and helps its improvement. In the Hacienda's kitchen some of this milk is used to make cheese, butter, yogurt, cream and sour cream to be consumed by guests and inhabitants.
Composting reduces the amount of waste sent to the landfills and produces a nutrient rich organic fertilizer used in the insecticide-free vegetable garden.
SERVICES AND FACILITIES
At the farmhouse you will receive charming hospitality with a friendly family ambience. There is a dinning room with a cosy oven perfect for making home-made bread and pizzas, the library-bar where one can while away the evening with an exquisite bottle of wine or a selection of fine spirits while soothing background music creates an atmosphere where the hours just melt away. While the hours pass in the living rooms, fine cuisine is being prepared in the kitchen and delicious tea and coffee is available around the clock. This atmosphere is created to make your stay at Hato Verde a relaxing, tranquil and above all, memorable one.
