Manteles is a family-owned Hacienda that opened its doors for first class tourism in 1992. Manteles´ central location makes it the perfect base for exploring the surrounding areas and viewing the active volcano Tungurahua from a safe distance.

Hacienda Manteles is located in the center of Ecuador, in the province of Tungurahua, between Llanganati National Park and Sangay National Park. It is located 18.5 km (aproximately 45 minutes) from the city of Baños and 10 km from the town of Patate. The Hacienda is nudged in a valley known by the same name as the farm and it is surrounded by amazing natural views of the Ecuadorian Andes.

At Hacienda Manteles 200 hectares of primary cloud forest are protected. A variety of flora and fauna can be found while hiking along the natural paths. This forest is considered a buffer zone of the Llanganatis National Park, where according to the legend the Inca treasure of Atahualpa remains hidden.

Hacienda Manteles is known for its delicious homemade food. The fixed menus can be determined by guests before arrival. The menu includes: a starter or soup, main dish, dessert, tea or coffee. The dishes are prepared mainly with organic or local products from the surrounding area.

ACCOMMODATION

Mnateles offers 16 wonderfully decorated and cosy rooms to make guests feel at home. From each of the rooms one can enjoy lovely views, be it along the gardens, looking up into the mountains or directly across to the Tungurahua Volcano. Each room has a private en suite bathroom and hot water.
