The El Crater project has been created using alternative architecture and was built with materials from the region. The decoration is minimalist with an ethnic touch. The luxury suites and double and single rooms have a panoramic view of the crater of the volcano and the Middle of the World Equatorial Monument.

Hotel El Crater has twelve executive or family rooms offering travelers luxury and comfort with the perfect ambiance. The rooms combine elegance with an ethnic minimalist touch, and have been designed to provide spectacular views of the crater.

Rooms are equipped with comfortable king size or double beds, orthopedic mattresses covered with natural fibers, eiderdowns and pillows of natural down, as well as pure wool blankets.

ACTIVITIES

The El Crater project is located within the Geobotanical Reservation, inside the crater of the Pululahua Volcano at the Middle of the World. Its location at the entrance of the humid forest inside Pululahua Volcano provides exceptional opportunities for exploring the unique microclimate and the flora and fauna of the crater.

Pululahua is an active volcano with the only inhabited crater in the world. It is a 5-kilometer diameter depression where endemic vegetation includes unique orchids and 33 different vegetation species per square meter. Birds are those typical of the humid forest of the north-eastern zone of the province. The micro-climate inside the crater results in a continuously changing environment.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

The Crater is a 30-minute drive from Quito, and 8 minutes from the Equatorial Monument at the Middle of the World.

The hotel is also close to the ancient ruins at Rumicucho and Catequilla.
